Clergy & Staff at Guildford Cathedral

The Dean, after the Bishop, is the senior priest in the Diocese. He is a member of the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team and Chairman of the reference Group for the Board of Social Responsibility.

The Dean is a member of the Court of the University of Surrey, the Fabric Advisory Committee of Salisbury Cathedral and the Guildford Diocesan Advisory Committee.

He also relates closely to the County and Civic Communities, is an Honorary President of Guildford Choral Society, and he broadcasts regularly on BBC Southern Counties Radio.

The Precentor is responsible for the Music and Liturgy of the Cathedral. 

Nicholas is a Trustee of the Music Development Foundation, a Member of  the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England, the Diocesan Advisory Committee, the Diocesan Worship Committee and a Consultant to English Heritage.

Canon Frost is Co-ordinating Chaplain at the University of Surrey, and Bishop's Advisor for Inter-Faith Relations in the Diocese of Guildford. 

In 2009 Jonathan was elected as a clergy member of the Church of England's General Synod for the Guildford Diocese.

Since 1999 he has been a Tutor for Christian Doctrine on the Guildford Diocesan Ministry Course.  

Jonathan has been a member of the National Advisory Board of the Three Faiths Forum, and of the local committee, Council of Christians and Jews (Guildford).

Inter-Faith Relations

Canon Weaver is Guildford Cathedral's Canon Pastor, responsible for the Pastoral Care and Education Programme in the Cathedral.

Beyond the Cathedral Angela serves as a member of the Diocesan Ministerial Reference Group, is a Bishops' Selection Advisor, a Spiritual Director and a Patron of Changing Attitude.

Nancy Ford is Guildford Cathedral's Priest Vicar and takes her part in leading and assisting at services both on Sundays and weekdays.

Nancy has been Chaplain to the Bishop of Guildford since 2005 and is a member of the Bishop's Staff Team. She advises the Bishop and clergy within the Diocese on a range of issues, particularly HR matters, and is a Clergy Coach and Spiritual Director.
