The Dean, after the Bishop, is the senior priest in the Diocese. He is a member of the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team and Chairman of the reference Group for the Board of Social Responsibility.

The Dean is a member of the Court of the University of Surrey, the Fabric Advisory Committee of Salisbury Cathedral and the Guildford Diocesan Advisory Committee.

He also relates closely to the County and Civic Communities, is an Honorary President of Guildford Choral Society, and he broadcasts regularly on BBC Southern Counties Radio.

Twice Lord Mayor's Chaplain

Founder Trustee of the Globe Centre for people with HIV and AIDS in the City

Founding Director of St Mary-le-Bow's Young Homeless Project

Founder member of the Affirming Catholicism movement

Chaplain to the Order of Australia

Installed as Dean of Guildford 2002

Awarded Order of Australia Medal in 2003 for work with the Australian community in the City
