Monthly Free Coffee Concerts

Guildford Cathedral is delighted to welcome The U3A Choir.  They are a Guildford  based choir which welcomes beginners to the more experienced singer.  Led by their conductor, John Varney, their repertoire includes songs from musical theatre, folk music, opera and oratorio choruses, anthems and carols. They meet weekly on Tuesday afternoons at St Nicolas Church, Guildford and are always keen to attract new members.  They are delighted to be able to share their music for a Summer Morning at Guildford Cathedral.  The programme will include a wide range of music for your enjoyment, and will include an opportunity for audience participation. 

So come along on Thursday 20 July, doors open at 10.30 am for coffee, the informal concert is 11.15am – 12 noon.   

This coffee concert is part of a regular monthly series of accessible concerts.

Accessible venue, Cathedral open for visitors, Refectory open for light refreshments and lunches.  Shop open.  Free parking.

Coffee will be available from 10.30am.

The Refectory, Shop and Cathedral are open.

Fumi Otsuki accompanied by Alessandro Viale, perform a classical programme including pieces by Holst, Elgar and Respighi

 

Friday 29 September: Macmillan Coffee morning, 10.30- 12 noon

Join the worlds largest coffee morning, with music from the Guildford Cathedral Organ scholar, Matthew Kelley, all donations to go to Macmillan Cancer Care.

 

Thursday 5 October: The Royal Grammar School Guildford, 11.15-12 noon

A varied programme of music performed by young talented soloists and ensembles

 

Thursday 9 November : Wind Chamber Quintet, 11.15 - 12 noon

A delightful programme of music including pieces by Agay, Ibert and Parker.

 

Thursday 21 December: Carol Service with Age UK Surrey, 11 - 12 noon

All welcome, note earlier start time.
