The Fabric of the Cathedral
Recent Achievements
Thanks to the generosity of the Brick Givers and Charitable Trusts the north door was restored to its original condition.
After forty years, the west windows had failed, letting in copious amounts of rain and damaging the brick and plaster. Following extensive restoration, which included removing every pane of the hand-made glass, the scaffolding was removed in time for the Easter 2008 services.
Current Projects
The West End Ramp
We need to replace the current ramp which is far too steep. The cost is likely to be £5000 ~ a donation – whatever the size – will make a difference. Click the donate button and give today.
The South Transept Windows
Like the west windows, the south transept windows have failed and there is extensive water damage. We need to raise £35000 for this restoration project. Your gift, large or small, will make a difference.
