The Early Post-War Years: Waiting
During the Second World War, work on the Cathedral stopped and for some ten years afterwards little progress was made due to a shortage of money and building materials. The Cathedral stood empty.
However, from 1947 onwards, regular services were held in the Crypt Chapel which is now used as the Choir practice room.
