EVENT UPDATE – The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will officially open Guildford Cathedral’s Thy Kingdom Come Beacon Event at 4.30pm on Sunday 4 June and join thousands – including our own Bishops of Guildford and Dorking - in prayer and praise. Join us! Book your FREE tickets now!

Come and gather on the day of Pentecost for a huge Beacon event at Guildford Cathedral for people of all ages and stages of life and faith. There are two events; you can come to either, or both, of these. The service in the Cathedral is especially for young people - from secondary school age to college and uni students. Tickets to BOTH events are free of charge.

4.30-6.00pm Pilgrimage, Prayer and Food Festival

Pilgrimage – come on foot if you can or park in Surrey University car park (map link) Blue Badge holder parking on site only, coach drop off , aided by stewards, at the University entrance.

Prayer –  a whole host of churches from across the area are gathering to experience and engage in prayer through art and music, and across the traditions. Over 20 different ways to pray from the loud and exuberant to the quiet and reflective.

Food – bring a picnic with something to sit on. Or buy from one of the BBQs, kids packed lunches, ice cream van or bar

Festival – fun and games with inflatables of all sorts, Gospel choir and dance to entertain

6:30-8:00pm Pentecost Celebration Service

In the Cathedral hosted by  Bishop Jo Wells and Pete Grieg. Led by, for and with young people, this spirit filled service will be a culmination of 'Thy Kingdom Come' week of international prayer when we’ll gather to worship Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and pray that others will come to know Him.   

Worship led by the Boileroom Ignite band.
