Previous Organists Stephen Farr was Organist and Master of the Choristers at Guildford from 1999 until 2007. He moved from Guildford to combine a freelance career with posts as Director of Music at St Paul's Knightsbridge and Music Consultant of Worcester College Oxford. His predecessor at Guildford, Andrew Millington, was Organist and Master of the Choristers at Guildford from 1983 until 1999 and is currently Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral. His predecessor at Guildford, Philip Moore, has been Organist and Master of the Choristers at York Minster since 1983. He also has an established international reputation as a composer. Barry Rose, who founded the choir in 1961 after a varied career as a freelance organist and parish musician, spent 13 years at Guildford. He subsequently held posts as Master of the Choir at St Pauls Cathedral, Director of Choirs at Kings School Canterbury, and Master of Music at St Albans Abbey before his retirement. |
