Come and visit the Cathedral in May. Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or simply looking for a peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, our beautiful cathedral has something for everyone.

One of the highlights of a visit to the Cathedral is the chance to hear the choir sing at our services.  All welcome to join us for our weekday Choral Evensongs and our Sunday Services.  On May 7, we have a special service for the Coronation of King Charles III, all are welcome.

While you are here, why not check out the delicious offerings at Seasons Cafe for a tasty lunch or quick snack? And don't forget to stop by our Gift Shop, which boasts a broad selection of items for you to browse at your leisure.  There is also free two hours parking at the Cathedral, for our visitors.

Cathedral Tots at Guildford Cathedral – Wednesday 3 May – 10am

Cathedral Tots will meet to worship informally with a story, song, and prayer.  Cathedral Tots in May will focus on the senses that God has given us. Come and explore the Cathedral through all five senses as we gather for informal worship, children’s activities and enjoy toys and refreshments together too.  Cathedral Tots is aimed at toddlers and pre-schoolers with their parents/carers.  No booking is necessary, children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Sight For Surrey Centenary Exhibition at Guildford Cathedral - 3 May – 2 July 2023 - 8.30am

To celebrate their Centenary anniversary, an exhibition to inform people all about this Surrey-based charity will be held at the Cathedral.  On display will be the charity’s history, the role of technology to assist people with sensory loss, facts and tips about how to help people with sight and hearing loss and how the charity empowers people with sensory loss to overcome everyday challenges. Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey supports people on this journey from birth all the way through life. 

 

County Service for the Coronation of King Charles III at Guildford Cathedral – Sunday 7 May – 3pm

The County Service attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Coffee Concert at Guildford Cathedral – Eric and Jo Levi – 18 May

As part of a series of monthly concerts throughout the year, May, sees ‘Eric and Jo Levi’, Cellist and Pianist performing within the beautiful surroundings of Guildford Cathedral.  The mornings start at 10.30am when tea, coffee and biscuits are served and then the concert begins at 11.15am.  For more information on the Coffee Concerts for 2023, please visit the website, https://www.guildford-cathedral.org/events/coffee-concerts

 

Jenna Fox, Art Exhibition at Guildford Cathedral – 23 May – 29 June – 8.30am

This exhibition focuses on flowers in the local environment and those celebrated within the Cathedral building.  It offers a chance to pause and consider the beauty of nature around us.

 

Art Workshops with Sophie Artemis at Guildford Cathedral – Saturday 27 May – 10am - 3pm |

Using our wonderful building as inspiration Sophie Artemis, a local artist, will work with children and adults to create different kinds of artwork in sessions for different age groups.

10.00-11.00am Reception to Year 2 pupils will work on creating a piece of art using collage techniques. | SOLD OUT

11.30am-12.30pm Year 3 to Year 6 pupils will make ‘little books’.| SOLD OUT

1.30-3.00pm Year 7 + (adults also welcome – a place must be booked if you would like to take part in the session; if you are simply accompanying your child but do not want to take part, no adult ticket is needed). This session will allow participants to sketch aspects of the Cathedral’s building under Sophie’s expert guidance and support.
