Holiday Activities

DUE TO THE ONGOING coronavirus pandemic, the cathedral is unable to host holiday activities at this current time.

We regularly hold Family Fun Days which are totally free events in school holidays where children can come and explore our building and take part in a variety of accessible art and craft activities. The activities are fun, low-key crafts with clear instructions and a model to help children finish the activity successfully. Activities link to the season or festival being marked or celebrated at the specific time of year, and all resources are provided. There are toys and building blocks available to keep younger children entertained. For dates of our Family Fun Days, please click here.

Additionally, during each school holiday, there is an activity table available for children: this has resources for a self-guided activity that children can do at any time while they are in the Cathedral and take away with them. Through the summer holidays, a new activity is put out each week for children to access. Instructions and all resources are laid out along with a completed version of the activity (where possible) to support children in creating something to remember their visit to Guildford Cathedral.

In the summer holidays, we run a Summer Storytime and Song Session. These are informal storytelling sessions which take place in our lovely, welcoming Seasons Cafe on a Wednesday morning from 10.00am. Children get to hear some of their favourite stories and experience some new ones, as well as have the chance to burn off some of their summer holiday energy by dancing and doing the actions to lively songs. Dates for Storytime Sessions 2020 will be published in the summer term and displayed here.
