News: Archive Study Day: Wed 2 November

Are you interested in history, heritage or archives?  Do join us to explore the fascinating world of archiving at a FREE study day where we plan to take an open approach to archives and the work of archivists in general..

We are delighted to confirm our speakers and talks for the day:

  • Julian Pooley, Surrey History Centre

Making Archive Matter - an overview of the work to rescue and make accessible the county's historic records and a discussion on some of the ways these amazing materials are used to engage with the community.  

  • David Rymill, Winchester and Hampshire Record Office

The Winchester Cathedral Archive - Glimpses of 900 years of a Cathedral's history from its archive.

  • Cressida Williams, Canterbury Cathedral Archive

Church records over the centuries: the collections of Canterbury Cathedral Archives

The study day includes an exhibition of previously unseen items from the Guildford Cathedral Archive and runs from 10am - 1pm.
