News: Guildford Rock Choir Coffee Concert

We are delighted to welcome back the Guildford, Godalming and Farnham Rock Choir to the Marquee at Guildford Cathedral on Thursday 18 May at 11.15am to provide a morning of uplifting music, with FREE coffee served from 10.30am.  This is one of a series of free Coffee Concerts held regularly at the Cathedral.

Rock Choir is the UK’s favourite contemporary choir group, performing upbeat and inspirational songs from many different genres, not just Rock. In its 11th year it is hugely popular, with over 23,000 members across the UK, all with no need to read music or audition. The Guildford, Godalming and Farnham Rock Choir members are lead by Thomas George, a professional singer and teacher who trained in Guildford. The members rehearse weekly over three terms a year putting together repertoire of music to perform at different events both locally and nationally.

They offer many different experiences to members and have taken them to many different and special performances such as the O2 in London, the NEC, Liverpool Echo arena, Wembley stadium, Wembley arena, Murrayfield stadium and Abbey Road recording studio.  However, performing in their local community is their primary role raising lots of money in the process.  In the last twelve months Rock Choir has helped raise in excess of £1.2 million pounds for different charitable organisations around the country.

SPECIAL OFFER : Why not extend your visit to the Cathedral and stay for a special lunch in the Refectory for only £10.  The special price menu must be pre-booked, simply telephone 01483 560417 to book.  The Refectory will be open for lunches and light refreshments for those who do not pre-book, the Cathedral and Shop are also open.
