His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

10 June 1921 — 9 April 2021

The Dean and the Chapter and the entire cathedral community extend our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and her family following the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. We assure her of our prayers for her and her family in their time of grief and our prayers of thanksgiving for the long life of service Prince Philip gave to our nation and to the Commonwealth. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

An online Book of Condolence has been set up at Guildford Cathedral for any members of the community who would like to add their name in thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip and the lasting contribution he has made to the life of our nation and the Commonwealth.

Planning Your School’s Visit

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Cathedral is not able to offer School Workshops or visits at the current time.

Decide whether you would like your school to attend a School Workshop with specified dates, covering a particular Christian festival, or whether you would like to arrange a School Visit which would be tailored to your needs to support the delivery of a specific learning objective.

School Workshop

If you would like to attend a School Workshop, please complete and return the School Workshop booking form to schools@guildford-cathedral.org

Once your form is received, we will allocate your workshop date and confirm the details with you. At this point, you will be invoiced for the cost of the workshop. You will also receive a copy of our Terms and Conditions, which you are advised to read and raise any queries as necessary.

Prior to your workshop date, you will receive the timetable information for the day and confirmation of the arrangements for your workshop. Please note that workshops may be shared with other schools at busy times.

School Visit

If you would like to organise a School Visit with one of your preferred dates and your chosen topic, please complete and return the School Visit booking form to schools@guildford-cathedral.org

Once your form is received, we will investigate the date options you have given with our Diary Management Team. Once a date is confirmed, you will be informed of this and your visit booking is then secured. At this point you will be invoiced for the cost of your trip. You will also receive a copy of our Terms and Conditions, which you are advised to read and raise any queries as necessary.

The timetable and content of the trip will then be put together and sent out to you at least one week prior to your trip.
