A Season of Ascension and Pentecost

What’s On | May 2026 ✨

A Season of Ascension and Pentecost ⛪

May at Guildford Cathedral continues the pattern of worship, music, and community activity. The month includes a range of services, concerts, and events for families and visitors, reflecting the Cathedral’s life of prayer and welcome.

The Cathedral marks the Feast of the Ascension and celebrates the anniversary of its consecration, before gathering for Pentecost, the Cathedral’s patronal festival. Alongside these, there are opportunities to enjoy music and events for the wider community.

All are warmly invited to attend services and events throughout the month.

🎵 For music lovers, the Cathedral’s programme includes a Coffee Concert given by students from the University of Surrey, alongside evening candlelight performances and regular choral services sung by the Cathedral Choir.

🛍️ For those interested in local crafts and independent makers, the Craft & Flea returns to the Cathedral, bringing together a range of stalls from regional designers and artisans.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For families and younger visitors, Cathedral Tots continues to provide a regular midweek gathering for pre-school children and their carers, while a Family Fun Day later in the month offers a themed craft session for children.

🙏 For those wishing to attend worship, the Cathedral marks the Feast of the Ascension and the anniversary of its consecration, before celebrating Pentecost with services across the weekend.
