Types of School Visits

We welcome school groups to Guildford Cathedral throughout the year—typically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Every visit is specially designed for your pupils’ age and RE subject, blending learning with hands‑on activities (art, craft, drama or music activity) and time to reflect in our peaceful space.


1. Bespoke School Visits

  • When: Any time of year, Tues–Thurs (weekday dates by arrangement)

  • What’s Included:

    • Tailored RE session on your chosen subject

    • Interactive activity (craft, song, drama) to bring learning alive

    • Guided tour of the Cathedral’s architecture, art, and history

    • Quiet moment for pupils to be still and reflect

  • Sample Topics:

    • Baptism & Christian Symbols

    • Features of a Church/Cathedral

    • Worship & Peace (tied to Remembrance)

2. Themed School Workshops

Designed to link directly with the new RE syllabus and key Christian festivals, our workshops run at set times each year—but some topics are available on request.

Explore Guildford Cathedral's rich history from Stag Hill a thousand years ago to the present day. Our full-day program aligns with the KS2 history curriculum, featuring interactive learning with drama, photographs, maps, and Cathedral archive materials. Discover the creators and builders of the Cathedral through engaging activities.
