Conversion from a Charitable Company to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation

 

Dear Friend,

This is to inform you that we are to hold a General Meeting of the Friends of Guildford Cathedral on Sunday 11th February 2024 straight after the morning service, at approximately 11:15am, in the Chapter House, to which you are invited.

The purpose of the meeting is to gain the approval of the Friends of Guildford Cathedral to pass the necessary resolutions for the Friends to apply for conversion from a Charitable Company to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

There are two papers enclosed for you to read prior to the meeting:

  1. A Notice of the Meeting, including the Agenda and the Special Resolutions to be put to the meeting. This includes a notice about proxy votes.
  2. A copy of the proposed Constitution to be adopted by the CIO. [This document is 24 pages long and can be found on the friends’ page of the Cathedral website using the following link. If you need a printed copy please notify the Friends’ Secretary (07851 371590), who will send one as soon as possible]
