📌 Notes to Editors
Guildford Cathedral is the newest Church of England Cathedral consecrated on a new site and the only one dedicated to the Holy Spirit. Known for its distinctive architecture and light-filled interior, it stands proudly on Stag Hill, a beacon of welcome and homecoming.
When World War II interrupted its construction, the community rallied to keep the vision alive. Thousands of individuals—including Queen Elizabeth II—bought and signed bricks to help build what became known as The People’s Cathedral.
Today, Guildford Cathedral remains “Open to God, Open to All” – a living space for worship, music, art, reflection, and community.
