📌 Notes to Editors
Guildford Cathedral is the newest Church of England Cathedral consecrated on a new site and the only one dedicated to the Holy Spirit. Situated on Stag Hill, it is a place of light, peace, and inspiration, offering a warm welcome to all.
When World War II interrupted its construction, the people of Guildford rallied. Thousands bought and signed bricks to complete the vision – including Queen Elizabeth II. This powerful act of community support earned Guildford Cathedral the nickname The People’s Cathedral.
Today, the Cathedral is not only a place of worship but also a dynamic cultural hub, known for its music, events, exhibitions, and outreach. It remains committed to being Open to God, Open to All.
