We are sorry to be closed. With heavy hearts we have taken the difficult decision to close the cathedral building to visitors and members of the congregations. The rate of Covid-19 infection in Surrey is alarmingly high. We have been told by our Government and by Public Health England that we should all stay home except for essential journeys. We believe that in remaining open to visitors and members of the congregation we may, inadvertently, be communicating an ‘invitation’ to leave home.

We are all disappointed that we have had to take this decision, and with the support of Chapter, we believe that this is the right thing to do in the current circumstances.

We all look forward to the time when we can be together in person.

Throughout the time when we are unable to offer services from the Cathedral, please be assured that the Clergy are praying in their own homes. If you would like to be added onto the prayer list please contact Emma on deanspa@guildford-cathedral.org
