Today's #homeworship comes from our Organist and Master of the Choristers and her daughter. Although the Cathedral is closed for public worship, it is open for private prayer.

Our priests are praying at services which have their origins in the time of Henry VIII. Today the Church remembers the creator of these services, Englishman Thomas Cranmer, and we wanted to share with you some music written by another great Englishman, John Ireland.

His setting of a poem by priest William How holds a Latin title - Ex ore innocentium - but the text is English. It is a summing up of what we, as Christians, believe, and begins 'It is a thing most wonderful, almost too wonderful to be, that God's own Son should come from heav'n...'.
