Today's #homeworship is also a #ThrowbackThursday!
A great hymn from our Advent Carol Service which happened at the beginning of December: Hark the glad sound, the Saviour comes.
Why? Today, alongside prayers for the whole world, clergy will be praying for the Community of St John the Baptist, and remembering John the Baptist's call to be ready for Jesus' coming, which we also remember in Advent.
We remember that John baptised people in the river Jordan, knowing that this was a partial ministry. Bereft of our buildings, we feel a little like this. But we look forward to the day when we can return. In the meantime, stay tuned for a service of morning worship from Guildford Cathedral's clergy and musicians this Sunday morning!
