Bradley Smith

We are delighted to welcome Bradley Smith to the People's Cathedral Project. Bradley is working for Buxton, our main contractor, as an Apprentice Surveyor.

On site, Bradley is learning a range of new skills, working closely with the Quantity Surveyor:

"Negotiation and communication are really important in terms of both Sub-Contractors and the Client. Teamwork features heavily in everything we do".

Previously Bradley has done some work at Rochester Cathedral but is now on site at Guildford Cathedral which has its own challenges:

"In a way, a refurbishment project is harder than a new build. You have to be sensitive to the old techniques of construction and try to apply modern building standards".  

In the future Bradley hopes to get chartered and become a successful Quantity Surveyor, looking after his own projects.
