November brings Advent

November at Guildford Cathedral offers a rich tapestry of events that blend creativity, reflection, and community spirit.

The month begins with Threads Through the Cross, a vibrant textile exhibition by Jacqui Parkinson, and continues with a variety of gatherings including craft markets, guided tours, and family-friendly services like Cathedral Tots.

Musical highlights include a tribute to George Michael, the elegant Great Gatsby Ball, and a moving County Service of Remembrance.

As the festive season approaches, visitors can enjoy the Christmas Fair, Etsy Guildford Market, and the Advent Carol Service, all set within the stunning backdrop of this iconic Grade II* listed building. Joy to the World | Christmas Art Exhibition

The Christmas art exhibition at Guildford Cathedral is a highlight each year, featuring artwork from pupils of all ages, from nursery to sixth form. This year, schools explored the theme ‘Joy to the World’ inspired by Luke 2:10: ‘Don’t be afraid, because I am bringing you some good news. It will be a joy to all the people.’ The exhibition reflects on how Jesus brings joy and hope, even in difficult times.
