Heritage Open Day 2021

2021 is our Diamond Year when we celebrate 60 since the building was consecrated as a Cathedral. To link with that celebration, our Heritage Open Days will run from Friday 9th September to Sunday 19th September. There will be tours, talks and a treasure hunt – something to suit all the family!

On Friday 10th we will have a literature day with talks by local historian David Rose and a book launch by Edward Maufe’s grandaughter, Juliet Dunmur.

On Saturday 11th and Saturday 18th there will be tours of the crypt, the tower and the Cathedral at ground level. Booking will be essential for these tours as spaces are limited.

On Saturday 18th in the morning there will be family focused Heritage Activity morning, and all through the week there will be a diamond treasure hunt in the building. How many diamonds will you see?

And through the whole period there will be a heritage exhibition as a celebration of our 60 years.

Tours and the Literature Day talks are now bookable through our box office
