Are you an experienced safeguarding professional with the confidence to challenge, the wisdom to guide, and the heart to serve?
Guildford Cathedral is seeking a Non-Executive Safeguarding Lead (NESL) to provide independent, strategic oversight of safeguarding across Cathedral life. This is a vital governance role at the heart of our mission, ensuring the highest standards of care, accountability and protection for all.
Why This Role Matters
With the INEQE Safeguarding Audit in Spring 2027 approaching, we are committed not simply to compliance, but to excellence. The NESL will help ensure safeguarding is deeply embedded in our culture, practice, and governance long into the future.
As a trustee, you will help shape the Cathedral’s future, providing strategic guidance and financial insight to support its mission, community life, and ongoing development. If you’re passionate about using your professional expertise for the public good and contributing to a place of heritage, worship, and outreach, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Chapter meetings are held on the first Tuesday morning of every month, except August, in the Chapter House.
