Fundraising Volunteer

🌟 Become a Fundraising Volunteer at Guildford Cathedral 🌟

Would you like to gain valuable office and charity-sector experience while supporting the work and mission of Guildford Cathedral?

We are looking for a Fundraising Volunteer to support our Development Office with a range of administrative tasks that help us thank supporters, maintain records, and raise vital funds for the Cathedral's ministry and community work.

💻 Gain hands-on experience in fundraising and administration
📧 Help thank donors and support fundraising activities
📁 Develop valuable office and organisational skills
🤝 Work alongside a friendly and supportive staff team

No previous fundraising experience is required. We're looking for someone who is approachable, reliable, and comfortable using a computer and email, with a good eye for detail and a willingness to learn.

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you could help with:

• Sending emails and letters to thank donors for their gifts
• Updating donation records
• Scanning and filing paperwork
• General administrative support

You will receive training and ongoing support from the Head of Fundraising and other Cathedral staff, with opportunities to learn more about how a fundraising department operates within a charity setting.

📍 Based in the Development Office at Guildford Cathedral
⏰ Flexible hours – approximately half a day per week

You are welcome to submit a Curriculum Vitae, although all volunteers will be required to complete an application form and provide two references before commencing their role.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and the completion of safeguarding training, where applicable.

There will be an initial trial period to ensure that the role is a good fit for both you and the Cathedral. As part of your induction, you will receive all the information, training and support needed to help you settle into the role and thrive as a volunteer at Guildford Cathedral.
