After climbing 249 steps to the top of the tower, the reward is a stunning view over Surrey and the surrounding area. Expert guides will lead your experience and help create a wonderful memory of this adventure.

Please read the restrictions carefully as to age and health.

No children under eight years old will be allowed on the tour.

All children under sixteen years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

No person over eighty years of age ,infirm, disabled, pregnant ,suffers heart disorders or suffering from any other medical or physical condition which could be affected by the climb will be allowed onto the tour.

Join our Tower Tour Guides on an exciting journey spiralling up the 249 steps to the top of Guildford Cathedral. Pass through our Ringing Chamber and Bell Chamber containing the only ring of 12 bells in the Diocese. Enjoy the stunning 360° views across Guildford and towards London.

Please meet in the South Porch at least 15 minutes before the tour is scheduled to begin for a briefing.

The following restrictions apply for Tower Tours:

  1. Tours are restricted to 15 people.
  2. No children under 8 are permitted on the tour and all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  3. No person who is over 80, infirm, disabled, pregnant, suffers heart disorders, or suffering from any other medical or physical condition which could be affected by the climb are permitted on the tour.
  4. Suitable footwear and clothing must be worn.
  5. Large items of baggage, back packs and other items (at the guide's discretion) must be left at ground level so visitors have ‘both hands free’ (items left entirely at owner's risk).
  6. Visitors will not touch or approach the Cathedral Bells, Bell Ropes, or any equipment relating to the ringing chamber or the bell chamber.
  7. Visitors will not touch, or approach, nor allow those in my charge to touch or approach, any telecommunications antennae, or equipment within or on top of the Tower which will be identified by the Guides.

Please note that you will be asked to sign a risk acceptance form before your ascent.
